DayRidge Canine Facility

About Us

Charles and I met in 2002 when I joined the local Fire department to volunteer. We hit things off well and in 2004 we got married. Our love for the outdoors has kept us best friends. We hunt everything and anything possible to hunt, and when all of that is closed - we fish. Often fishing Idaho, Montana, Washington and deep sea fishing in Oregon, and always with one or two of the kids. Charles grew up in Portland, there his family had been raising Springers since before he was thought of. Always hunting them. I started my passion for springer before we married and have loved every minute of them.

I have a goal and dream to build our kennel to a full canine facility, offering a retail store, indoor / outdoor training for all canine activities, boarding and grooming. While continuing to raise quality hunting companions, and supply fellow hunters with the material needed to finish there own hunting dog.

We purchased our ten acres in 2007 in the remote panhandle of North Idaho, we are surounded by forest service and timber company. In 2008 we were able to get our house on it. The kennel is slowly building to a professional level as time and money permit.

2009 and 2010 brought many speed bumps, learning curves, and hard lessons. A work injury (in March 09) left me with a bad knee. In September 2010 I had a cartilage graft the size of a quarter put in the bottom of my femur....six months later I was walking agian. Luckily I have a great mom that lives close.

2011 was a great year! Work was very blessed allowing us to recoup from the last two years. We were able to get a new kennel up and lots more fencing. Plans for the big kennel are drawn up and bids are coming in! It could still be a few years though - its a big building.

We are not competitive people and we greatly dislike politics. We love more than anything to take our dogs out to remote areas and hunt. I used to set up camp with my family and not come out of the
woods for two weeks, the whole time not seeing any other people! (with work resposibilities that is now only a week)
I love my dogs they hunt and do everything I ask of them, I'm sure in the right hands they could compete. Yes their poop stinks! Outside of watching them work - one of the best joys I have found is hearing back from families similar to ours that absolutely love their Dayridge Springer. Knowing how many lives each puppy touches will keep us raising the happiest and healthiest hunting partners that we can - that is a promise.
